Omnigraff: Where are you from?
Sufer: I grew up in a really small town in Washington state. Moved to San Francisco in 1997, moved to Portland for about 6 months in 2002 then I came to LA. Been here ever since!!
Omnigraff: How did you get into writing?
Sufer: A friend from high school who had moved to my town wrote and he got me into it. But once I moved to SF I really got into it and was inspired by all the witers who were bombing in the late 90’s in the bay!! Shout out to DASER from Stockton who showed me how to do a fill-in, haHa, and JEEZ (JZ) who put me up on game on how to bomb and what this graff stuff was all about! Also CA crew for showing the out of towner underdog so much love... Love you guys!!!
Omnigraff: Was there anybody in the graff game you looked up to when you first started?
Sufer: Oh fo sho... from washington when I was like ten or eleven I used to see SOBER up. Cats from olympia like RAIN MENES and a few others... In SF it was ...KRAFT, BIAS, from CA... CYCLE was getting up... ATOM were crushing shit, LIGHT, IGNI, MASEO, DREAM, ARROWS, ELSE, BIGFOOT, SOME, FELON, ERUPTO327, REVOK , FATE, and SABER were killing it. SKERT , ABHOR, RENOS, PUZL, AZURE, CEAVE, TIE, CELS, KOKES, CRAM, AQUA, SOPE, VEGAN, HEART, GISE, NARC, ANOK, SLEAZE, SOLE, ROLEX, DIET, KZAM, DUG, DEEN, BLES , TIGER, PEACE, TRUST, JASE, SPOKE, KODE, CFOR, NORM, BUM, PERCEPT, UFO, LOVE, ORFN, ASADA, KLIPS, CHEERS, BYPED, SETUP, LOG , GREY, GESO, JOINT, JOROE, TONE, AMAZE, TWIST, KR, SCRUB, MQ, BENET, MOSK, and JZ(jeez). A lot of people I looked up to when I first started and there are some more I just can't think of them. Oh cant forget the ICP cats! And MIZE from IRAK crew. The first nigga to give me props along time ago!!!
Omnigraff: So, what do you do besides graff?
Sufer: Besides graffiti, I race motocross and I love to play chess. Chill with the lady and like to travel. I also love a good bite to eat.
Omnigraff: Something about yourself the average person wouldn’t guess?
Sufer: My best friend doesn’t write graffiti, I don't drink alcohol, and I cant stand tweakers! I own ultrawidemarkers. Yes the old school ones from back in the day. I'm Italian. I went to prison for 2 years on a conspiracy charge. I sold an idea to an outside investor for some good cash! I love when the underdog wins! After every paint mission I smoke a victory blunt!!
Sufer: The chain.... It cost me 26k to make... Since gold has gone up its worth just over 30k. But if I were to sell it I could probably only get 15k for it. Haha, words of wisdom, don’t ever buy a chain or diamonds or any stupid shit like that. Invest it something longterm. Trust me!
Omnigraff: Any crazy chase story?
Sufer: YES. For all you writers out there... ALWAYS RUN!!! My best chase stories are with me and my good friend and brother APEAR. Hollywoood and Highland. It's a hotspot... We're just about done and bam, LAPD creeps with the spot light. We duck and army crawl to where the wall drops down about ten feet (it was at a construction sight). As soon as we hop up, to jump down, they spot us and start running towards us. "FREEZE MUTHERFUCKERS" is what they are yelling at us. The thing is we have to run right towards them to get out of the spot and then we can dip. So we start sprinting right at them and it kind of trips them out. But when we get to the right spot we cut hard to the left, and they are literally 5 feet from us. I don't know how (adrenaline I’m sure) but we hop the fence all in one motion onto a parked van, from the van onto some metal poles, and then going across some yard I mean fucking ONG BAK style. Shit was crazy, cops throw the flashlight at us hitting APEAR but not fazing him. Then from the poles to another fence and into some apartments. I smash right, APEAR goes left. Then 4 hours later we meet at the car, I drop him back off at spot and he finishes our border!
Omnigraff: What do you do to support yourself?
Sufer: To support myself I sold an idea. Well me and my best friend in life “THE SKUZY” created a little idea and sold it to an outside investor for a descent price. I then took that money and bought ultrawidemarkers. I am bringing the old 2 finger and 4 finger back and also expanding the line. By the the time you read this interview the website should be up and in action. ULTRAWIDEMARKERS.COM. We will also be doing our own ink which I just finished testing and it's saucy!!
Omnigraff: Any real advice to these new jacks in the graff game that look up to you and the members of your crew?
Omnigraff: Where do you think your life would be if you weren’t writing?
Sufer: My life without graffiti would be either skateboarding or in motocross. I think I would still be an ambitious person but who knows. I would not have met some great people and have such good people in my life if I didn’t ever write thats for sure! So I think I would be the same just not known as SUFER. Oh I would also have a lot more money, and I mean a lot!!!
Sufer: For the new kids painting. Just have fun! Don't do it because you think it makes you cool, do it because its your passion! Learn the history of graffiti, learn the history of your city and the writers that came before you. If you become one of those writers who start to really get up and people start giving you props, just stay humble and don’t be a dick. There's nothing worse than somebody who is good at graffiti but is a complete fuck head! (there are lots out there) Know that you will get caught. You will go to jail and NEVER NEVER NEVER say shit to the muthfuckin punk police! Oh and you have to be consistently up for at least five years straight to be considered a bomber. Ten years gets you respect! anything under that your still a toy. Just like I was. Longevity is the key!
Omnigraff: Do you smoke or drink?
Sufer: I have not smoked a cigarette in three years. Not one fucking drag. But I did smoke for 16 years! I did the math one day and I realized I had given Marlboro over thirty thousand. Fuck that. I Haven’t smoked since! I do like to smoke the Mary Jane though! I do not drink.
Omnigraff: What kind of music do you jam on to?
Sufer: I like straight hood music, trap or die shit! I also like reggae and some classic rock as well.
Omnigraff: How did you meet TORO and is he like a brother to you?
Sufer: TORO is my twin brother from another mother! We are both italian and are great friends. He is my family! I met him through my little nigga and brother NOMAS. FREE NOMAS! He is the one who met Toro first, and introduced us. After that the rest is history! Alot of painting with that guy! I remember when I took him to hit his first heaven! Hahaha after that he went on a mission and hasn't stopped since!
Omnigraff: How long do you think you’ll keep writing for?
Sufer: I will always write until I can't write any more. As far as bombing goes, I already been chillin' on that. I went to prison for two years 11’ and 12’. I gotta do parole now which means no painting. I also have an injunction against me, that states, if I get caught doing any vandalism I have to pay the the city of LOS ANGELES 4.2 million dollars. Yes thats correct. I'll also get hit with a gang injunction, which would mean one big nightmare. So I gotta keep it chill for now. I had a good run though. I mean 98 till 2010. Not too shabby.
Omnigraff: So what started the whole beef between your crew and that oTher Krew frOm LA?

Sufer: Beef. It's something that will always be apart of the culture. It's stupid and it's all ego driven. But it is what it is! It started along time ago over a chick. nuff said!
Omnigraff: If you had one wish, what would that wish be?
Sufer: To bring back my good friend Anthony “OHJAE” Sena! RIP brother!
Omnigraff: What do you think of all these new bombers coming up from around the bay like Oakland, SF, etc?
Sufer: I can't hate on the next kid trying to make a name for him or herself. All I can do is hopefully be someone that kids can look up to and be a positive influence. Also to lead by example.

Sufer: I paint with the homies. I like just painting with one person maybe two sometimes but three is a crowd! I prefer painting with one person who is on the same level as me as far as spots and there vibe of the streets.
Omnigraff: Where do you think you’ll be in ten years?
Sufer: In ten years... Hopefully married with a little champion running around. Successful and happy! Enjoying life!
